This may be the most important and personal blog I will ever write.
One year ago today I lost someone so dear and close to me,a woman who was just like my second mom,My mom Anne.
I can hardly believe it's been a year let alone believe she is gone.Unfortunately cancer took away this beautiful woman with a soul and heart that was one of a kind.
I have never felt so much pain and heartache, nor have I ever cried as I did the day she passed away.
You would have loved her,so many people did.She was a woman who loved life, people, and always thought with her heart first!
There are so many memories I have of her.It would take forever to tell you all of them so I'll give you some highlights.
I remember the day I met her in Maryland. My dear friend Rachel(her daughter) and I were very good friends (like siblings without the fights) and Rachel said she was having lunch with her and wanted to know if i wanted to join them.
Of course I said yes,and as they say..the rest is history. We all met at Bennigan's(i still remember I had the Turkey O' Toole) and had such a great time!Anne was so inviting and warm to me as if I had known her for a long time not just meeting for the first time.
From that time forward I would see her whenever she was in town to see Rachel.
When Rachel convinced me to move to New York (the best decision ever!) I got very close to Anne.I had my first Thanksgiving in New York with them.I even spent Christmas Eve and Day at their house (something I think noone had done) because they wanted to make me enjoy christmas since I couldn't go home.
And on top of all that they invited me to her nephew's wedding in upstate. And she was so protective over me.She made sure noone made a rude comment about me being gay or made me feel uncomfortable. And noone did,her brother, his wife and his two daughters(michelle and Kerri) and everyone there were so good to me.Now they are all a part of my family too.
Anne and her wonderful husband Bob (who is also like a father to me,a very funny one!) also had me join them to celebrate Anne's birthday that year.We had dinner at Patsy's(amazing restaurant)and we saw Phantom of the opera (6th row Orchestra..truly amazing!)
By now I had come to look at Bob,Anne and Rachel as my second family.Their love, warmth and generosity to me is something i will always be so thankful for and truly never forget!
So when i met Keith,it was very important they liked him as much as I did! I knew they would have my best interest at heart. And they did like him..Phew!So much that Anne referred to us as her boys!
When Keith and I were planning our wedding we had originally had my mom and Anne walking me down the aisle, but then my dad said he wanted to also.So I told Keith we needed an important job for her,and being the smart man he is he suggested that she marries us!Perfect! The most important job!
When we asked her I'll never forget the tears she had in her eyes.We told her there was noone more perfect to do this than her,and you know what, we were right. Our wedding day was the greatest day of our lives, and it was all thanks to our wonderful family and friends,my beautiful husband and Anne.Who was the icing on the cake! She overcame her fear of public speaking for us.And when asked a year or so later if she would perform a ceremony for other friends, she said "sorry, but this was very special for my boys,I only did it once for them and I won't do it for anyone else.Iwant to keep it special." Now that is Love!
My favorite times after that were being at their house and having her amazing baked ziti and catching up on what's new in everyone's lives. Unfortunately, those times wouldn't last much longer.
The following may 16th she was diagnosed with breast cancer.I knew something was strange that day when I called,it was also my birthday and Keith and missed our plane and called them to see if they could look up last minute flights for us .They tried their best but I knew something wasn't right but couldn't tell what.I was kicking myself a week later when I found out what had really happened, and they wanted to keep it from me,so i could enjoy my vacation. and birthday.
After she succesfully battled breast cancer she saw her daughter Rachel get married in a beautiful wedding that October. She was so happy,it was all over her face. Many knew what she had been through and was still going through, but that day she had waited her whole life for,so no sickeness, pain or fatigue was going to interfere.I even got to dance with her one last time that day. Shortly after they found something in her lung which turned our to be cancerous (almost 2 years after she quit smoking) during the next few months it spread to her brain and her spine.
14 months to the day she was diagnosed with breast cancer she passed away from the last two cancers.I can't imagine what she went through,to have four cancers attack you in just over a year, and yet she stayed strong til the end! That was the amazing woman she was.
She was Strong, optomistic, loving ,protective, generous( i could easily fill a page describing her amazing qualities!)and above all else she always thought with her heart first!
So as you can see losing someone this incredible is extremely hard, but I am so thankful she was in my life for these years and will continue to live in my memories forever.
My heart goes out to Rachel and Bob who dedicated their lives to Anne when she was sick.Rachel, you are your mother's daughter and Bob you were the greatest husband anne could ever ask for and an inspiration for me to be the best husband i can be!!
Lastly I just want to say....
Thank you mom for being the best at what you do...everything!
Love your boys,
Jefferson and Keith

Let your inner child out!
Hey guys..finally I'm back!Unfortunately this heat has been so ridiculous to sit in front of my computer long enough to write a blog!Today is cool,so that really helps!
This blog is all about my nephew Dylan's visit to the Big Apple,oh and meeting Tony Award winner Levi Kreis(Million Dollar Quartet)
Keith and I had the great pleasure of having my nephew Dylan come visit us for a week recently! There were so many things I wanted to show him,but so little time. So I let Dylan decide, and like any child he chose the M&M store in times square(1600 broadway). This place is huge(3 floors) and so many cool things inside.after about 45 minutes we left there with our $37 bag of M&M's that we mixed together.
Next we headed to Toys R US Times Square(1514 Broadway) where like M&M it is also 3 levels and majorly packed!
After a little shopping spree there we decided it was time for lunch at Dave and Buster's.
On our way there he got too hungry and opted to have a NY hot dog and pretzel.
As a New Yorker I never really agreed with NYC putting chairs and tables on the streets of broadway but today it was perfect!
Now we were ready for Dave and Buster's(234 west 42nd street) where Dylan terminated the terminator game and won a whopping 480 tickets to redeem!
Which bought him a few peices of candy and finger locks LOL.
Now it was time for a break and thankfully i live so close!
That night we took Dylan to Bubba Gump's Shrimp Co.(1501 Broadway)
A fun place based on Forest Gump's best friend. We won the trivia quiz(which gave us free refills on soda all night LOL) and Dylan got the shrimp he has been waiting for!
But like his uncle Jeff a few bites fills him up!
Afterwards we saw Iron man 2 and then headed home to play video games.
I'm telling you this whole week I didn't feel 37...but my body felt it!
in the next few days I took Dylan to Coldstone Creamery(amazing ice cream concoctions),Central Park,Toy story 3 in the imax,The Chelsea Hotel(where Bon Jovi filmed his video)and many other small shops and food spots.
But I did give him some education by taking him to The Metropolitan Museum of art.(1000 5th avenue)Which he loved because of the Greek statues and midievel Times exhibits! They were really amazing!
Our last day with Dylan was spent at Hersheypark with his mom and dad and sister Skylar, our beautiful neice!
Hersheypark has come a long way since i was a kid! The rides are extreme now and the chocolate still tastes incredible!!
With Keith being on P90x we only bought $5.00 in candy this year versus $95 last year!
Alas all the fun had to come to an end and we headed back home to NYC but this time without Dylan.
When we got home I was sad when i looked at the Playstation 3 (every night before he went to bed we played a game of monopoly on it) and realized how much I already missed him!
There's always next year, and in a few years Skylar can join him!
Now just last week we went to see Million Dollar Quartet (which was incredible) and met Levi Kreis who plays Jerry Lee Lewis! He's so talented and soo nice!!
He represents the gay community and artists greatly! Unfortunately Keith brought the wrong camera(the one with dead batteries) and the iphone sucks at taking pictures with bright lights from a marquee around you!So all we have is a picture of Keith with a blurry spot standing next to him.
But at any rate it was a great experience and Keith got to meet his inspiration for performing!!
Tonight we are going to dinner with our friends Gail and Doug at Becco's.So that will be one of the places I review next time.
hope everyone has a great week!! Stay cool and...

What happens in vegas..stays on my blog!
hi guys! hope everyone had a great week..i know i did!
I'm very excited to say my facebook blog page is up and running.it's also called "living in the city". Please become a fan and leave your comments for me!!I would love that!!
So now to the blog..I finally took a vacation with keith (our first real one since march 09')
Our first stop was sin city itself..Vegas!!
We arrived there at about Midnight (and it was still 97degrees..phew!)
Our cab driver Judy (AKA Wendy Williams look a like) was so nice and very fun with a beautiful blonde weave. She asked us about what we thought about the benefits plan(which was code for "I know you two are gay!")and was pleasantly happy to hear we were married almost 3 years now.
She spoke about how she believed it was about time for gay marriage to be recognized everywhere. Then shared with us her moonshine and shotgun upbringing and suggested we go there for a visit(i think it was S.Carolina, but I don't think we will!)She was very cool!
She dropped us off at Paris...our hotel away from home! Paris is so beautiful inside and out..and we even got their beautiful Red Room..Truly gorgeous!
Keith and I decided to toast our arrival with a glass of champagne and then go downstairs for a drink and some slot playing.(we eventually lost..but not a lot.)
The next day after about 4 hours of sleep we met up with my sister Saundra and her husband Kelley who had flown out there just to be with us!
We did some sightseeing outside(about 15 minutes worth since it was 110 degrees now) and then decided to remain indoors as much as possible!
My sister and her husband decided that they would have their vows renewed by Elvis downtown which i found very exciting to do! When we got to Graceland Wedding Chapel(which I had to gps it for our cab driver) the woman who worked the reception also spoke up on mine and Keith's marriage favorably!(we were only 999,996 people shy of a million man march now!) I told Keith it seemed like we were the ambassadors for gay marriage..which does sound like a fun job!
I missed my sister's marriage 13 years ago,so it felt great to be there and walk her down the aisle and give her away at the Vegas one!I highly suggest getting vows renewed in Vegas by Elvis!(5 Jefferson's)
Afterwards we were left in Vegas's skid row to find a cab..and there were none!
So we went to 7-eleven where the guy at the counter called us one.It was sad to see the lives people led in this area of Vegas, definately not glitzy or glamorous!
That Night we ate at Rao's with Saundra and Kelley and had a lovely birthday dinner.
Excellent food there!(5 Jefferson's)
Now it was time to really kick into the Vegas experience! We took Saundra and Kelley to see our friend Lyssa perform in her band (Mr. $ Mrs. Smith) at Harrah's Carnival Court! Lyssa is the lead female singer with some amazing pipes on her!!
We were even on a VIP list!
Their band was amazing playing all of the big hits of today. And Lyssa was bringing the house down with her beauty and her talent! She has such amazing stage presence..she is a true performer..watch out cher!(they get a huge 5 jeffersons!)
Afterwards Keith,Lyssa and I went for a drink which turned into 3 drinks and brought us to about 5 am(now we are in vegas!)
we decided to go to a great authentic mexican food drive-thru.We sat there at their table outside watching the sunrise while eating delicious tacos and nachos.Truly an amazing experience!(you have to try it at least once!)
Afterwards we went back to our hotel and 3 hours later I got up and had breakfast with saundra and Kelley before their flight home.(Keith slept in)
That night we had a great dinner with Keith's fun vegas family Tayla,Leslie,Auntie Pris, and were also joined by Lyssa and her super fun mom..momma B at the Rainforest Cafe in MGM Grand. Keith got a lot of great gifts but the coolest one came from Lyssa who gave us a bottle of her wine(She is on the label doing a very cool 50's lingerie " pin up girl" pose).
Not many people can say their friend is on a bottle of wine...but we can! That's one off the bucket list!
Later that night we went to have a drink with our friend michelle's sister ,Dana and their mother Barb at our hotel(they were just starting their vacation.)we hardly get to see them,so we were glad we could!they are so sweet!
Now that we had our vegas fun (and 11 hours of sleep in 3 days!) it was off to Disneyland,California!
And we had the pleasure of having Lyssa and Momma B. come with us!
It was a very cool drive...nothing but desert but really amazing to see!(you just don't want your car to break down!)
After we checked into our lovely hotel(The Ayres Hotel..highly recommend it!)we headed over to Disneyland and had a blast!
Having Lyssa there made it more enjoyable for me since she is as crazy about Disney as Keith! And Momma B. really added a lot of fun to the experience!Probably my best day at any Disney park!I highly suggest bringing them on your disney vacation!
We had an amazing dinner at "The Blue Bayou" which is inside the pirates of the caribean ride! amazing food(I had Gumbo(2 cups) and delicious crab cakes!)and our waitress amanda was so great!(5 jefferson's)
And then we rode space mountain and Thunder mountain at night...the best way to do it!It felt like we were kids again and had no cares in the world!!
At the hotel afterwards we tried very hard to stay awake and one glass of Lyssa's delicious wine!only Lyssa and I made it!the others passed out before they could!
The next day i finally slept in(yay!) and said goodbye to Lyssa and momma B.(which was sad!) and met Keith back at Disney( he got there at 9 am!)
We had a great day together at California Adventures(their other park) The california scream roller coaster is so fun!And I love my Tower of Terror!
Later we had dinner at Wine Vineyards Trattoria inside california adventures.Amazing food and wine..and really cute cocktails with colored iced cubes!
(definately 5 Jeffersons!)
After a nice nights sleep it was back home to NYC with our beautiful girls Zsa ZSa And Eva waiting eagerly!(who survived thanks to our friend David's great care!)
.But first we met the 3 stooges(or should i say 3 flight attendants)on our flight home, they were really bad!!Like reality show bad!
This was such an amazing vacation with Keith and all of our friends and family!
I'm very excited since next week my nephew Dylan is coming to visit us for the week here in New York!So I'll see you all in two weeks with a blog of all of our adventures together!

From Diva to Broadway!
Hi guys! I am very excited to announce that my Blog has a home at facebook called what else "Living in the Kitchen". I am very close to my Pullitzer prize now!
So many great things have happened since my last post.
First was an amazing night with Miss Diana Ross! We saw her with our good friends Joe and Terry(or is it Terri?) at Caesar's in Atlantic City.
And as Joe would put it,"Honey those two can party!"
We were treated so good there. We had two beautiful adjoining rooms and even got to check in at the VIP center with a very sweet woman who reminded of us of our friend Diana!(no not Ross..i wish she was our friend!)
Before the concert we dined at The Continental. It's a beautiful modern restaurant with amazing food! We had King crab dumplings,a sea bass that was so decadent, and lobster mashed potatoes(which we were hoping to use to get backstage to Miss Ross).unfortunately,Miss Ross looks like she still enjoys her salads!
At the concert we were seated in the Emperor's Row, a private booth center stage about ten rows from the stage.
Miss Ross sang her heart out to all of her greatest hits dating back to the supremes all the way through to her remake of "I will survive".
Her voice was not that of a sixty six year old,but more like her younger years.
And when the Lady sang the blues you could hear a pin drop.
She even gave us a great command Diva moment when some crazy fans rushed the stage (on her second song of the night, guess they were excited) and pushed their way through the front seaters.Diana stopped the band and gave the crazed fans a scolding like your momma used to give you when you came in from outside and tracked mud across her nice clean floor! To that the audience of 3000 plus gave her a thunderous applause and standing ovation.(so Caesar's,continental and of course Miss Ross get a Big 5 Jefferson's!!)
What a fun night we all had! our next adventure together will be in August when we see Donna Summer(we love our Diva's!)
Later that week we went to see "Behanding in Spokane" with Christopher Walken thanks to our friend Rachael. It was such a funny play with dark humor that had you laughing out loud most of the show!
It doesn't end there, afterward we went backstage to meet the two stars,Christopher Walken and Sam Rockwell(who i almost lost my husband to..he is very good looking)
and they were as nice as they are talented! And a bonus was Don Rickles waiting for them.Don is still a very funny guy!(the show and their stars also get 5 Jefferson's)
Afterward's we went to a place called the Eatery on 9th ave and 51st street.
Now the food is good there(I had a very good meatloaf over mashed potatoes with a white cheddar fondue sauce) but the server we had was trying to act like a server from caferia(read my first blog!)
He was just not friendly and kept slamming menu's,napkins or anything he could get his hands on for his dramatic exit from our table!
I was so envious of all the other guest's and their nice servers..no really I was!
I would give the eatery 4 Jefferson's and our server one since he did ask how our food was.
Now this week is the begining of my beautiful keith's 29th birthday month. And to start the celebration we started out at Chevy's in Times Square.
Now Keith is really going to be 30+ this year but he is more beautiful than the day i met him.He has that Rob Lowe quality (and you see how good he's aged!!)
Chevy's was a fun time with our friends Michelle,Brian,Jeannie,Dennis,Shannon and Julie.
The food there is great and the drinks are even better!(I had a fresh watermelon mojito)
they get 5 Jefferson's for food, fun and getting your drink on!
Another restaurant i went to earlier last week was Merchant's for my friend Dan Chester's birthday!! We had an amazing night with our bartender Anna and a lot of great friends! If you go to Merchant's(17th street and 7th ave) and want some romance, ask to sit downstairs by the fireplace!very romantic! 5 Jefferson's for merchant's as well!
You don't want to miss next week's blog when we continue Keith's birthday month extravaganza to Las Vegas and Disneyland(somehow those two don't go together)
But i garauntee it won't be a blog you want to miss because with me it won't stay in vegas(it's going right here)
have a wonderful week and remember....Bon Appetit'!

37 is the new 21!
So this week I turned the big 37...or as i call it "the new 21" and boy did I have a great time celebrating!!
The biggest gift I must say is with the help of all my friends and family, we raised $774 for st.Judes hospital!!! It was what I wanted in place of gifts because I really have everything I need!!So a HUGE thank you goes out to everyone who contributed to my cause!!!
My other birthday gifts included some great shirts from Keith,a really cute shirt from Julie,2 Box tickets for Behanding in spokane on broadway (and we get to go backstage after to meet christopher Walken and Sam Rockwell..Keith has a crush on Sam Rockwell so I may be single after ...LOL)
and then Keith got me an amazing gift(besides him!)..2 tickets (front row center orch) to Addams Family on broadway(i'm dying to see this show!) and if that wasn't great enough my friend michelle is getting us backstage after and we may meet BeBe Neuwirth and Nathan Lane!!Like I said I got amazing gifts!!
For my birthday party we did a nice dinner and a little karaoke (ok a lot of karaoke!)
First we went to Vinyl (754 9th ave) for dinner.it is a very fun nostalgic spot to eat.
They have bathrooms that are named after celebrities and when you go inside them they play their music. There is a Dolly, cher,Elvis, and nelly one.(I know i didn't quite get that one)
The menus are old album covers on the front and back (i had michael jackson's "Thriller"...i know how much greater can you get!) I was joined by my friends Michelle Lookadoo,Rachael garrett,Joe "oh honey" martinelli,Jen hope, dan chester,Kenny, edmond, and of course Keith!
It was a great dinner and they had a truffle mac n cheese that was almost as amazing as cafeteria!all the food there is good, except for the turkey burger(DRY!) but with WAWAmelon belinis who cares!
they get 5 Jeffersons for a fun time and good food!
Afterwards we headed to Karaoke Duet 48(304 east 48th street) and had a blast!
They have private rooms there and they give you the song books, the remote control and the microphones and let you go to town! The staff is so friendly, and they have so many songs to sing (they definately get 5 jeffersons)
I was joined there by my good friends Rachel Bates Michelle Enfield,Brian,Julie,Todd,Damani,Lynn,Dan,Kenny,Edmond and Keith.
We had so much fun singing ,and yes we even had birthday cake! Although we thought we were going to set off the sprinklers..remember i'm 37 and that's a lot of fire!
On monday my good friends Jenn and Diana took Keith and I to Serendepity 3! (225 E. 60th street)
This is my absolute favorite ice cream place! They get a lot of celebrities(Cher , Britney,Ashton,Demi, etc.)and are best known for their $1000 sundae (it has gold in it) and their frozen hot chocolate.
We had such a fun time catching up with each other. And the way we talked about our friends new man(all good things of course) you would have thought we were shooting a scene from sex and the city. They are some very fun girls and incredible friends!
Now it was time for desert..do I get the $1000 sundae (it was their treat) or something else? well,i let them off easy and got their Humble Pie(peanut butter pie) with bananas, vanilla ice cream with caramel and butterscotch sauces.....and it was soooo amazing!!!(that gets 5 Jeffersons times 2!!)
Really you need to go there!!
I had an amazing birthday week and wouldn't have wanted it any other way!!
If i could share anything to you that i've learned in these last 37 years, and there are lots of things! But the most important ones are...Treat people the way you want to be treated, always be thankful for family and friends in your life(and I am truly blessed there!),Stress as little as possible(it helps you look younger) and just enjoy life and make the most out of it!We have one life to live and you have to live it the way you want to and not the way others want you too!
I know...i'm very wise :)
Next weeks blog will be another fun one! We are going to see Miss Diana Ross at Caesar's Atlantic City!
You won't want to miss this one!
til then,

A walk to the west village is never boring
welcome to my second blog everyone.I hope all the mothers reading enjoyed their mothers day!I can't wait til fathers day (I have dogs.)
This past weekend my friends and I were at work looking up a trailer to a little indie film called"The human centipede" (the name says it all). It was very exciting so we made plans to go see it monday. Now this movie only had 10% of the people survive the first screening!( according to Time magazine) And to top it off only one theater in all of New York would play it!
I was up at 8 am monday morning because let's face it, the movie made me a little nervous,ok a lot nervous! Have you seen the trailer?!
I walked from my apartment in the kitchen to the IFC center(4th street and 6th ave.).It was a very windy that day,It really felt like Chicago instead of New York City.
I stopped by a starbucks for a little pick me up and met a very interesting lady on my way out.The only way to describe her is if Whitney had stayed on the drugs this would be her! The pleasant woman told me to move the F@@@ out of her way. Even though we were at double doors and she was on the opposite side of me.Come to think of it maybe she wasn't speaking to me but maybe to the person she imagined in front of her.
The second person who caught my attention(and this time in more of an endearing way) was a woman sitting on church steps by herself clutching her Duane Reade bag and laughing very loudly.I thought if this woman is crazy(and there are a lot of crazy people in the city) She's having a great time doing it!
I met my friends Dan and Terrance(shout outs) outside the theater where we decided to have a little liquid courage before the movie.
We went to a cute mexican restaurant around the corner, had a bite to eat and a few drinks(well,i just had one..im a lightweight)and off to the scary movie we went.
I decided to use the restroom before the movie and went down this corridor that made me feel like they were filming the movie and i was their new star(remember i had seen the trailer already).
we entered the theater and there were about 7 more people there. Now not to be sick but this theater was so small that it didn't strike me as a normal theater but more like one Paul Reubens (a.k.a Pee Wee Herman)frequented.
Now the movie was very well done and a very unusual idea (really the name says it all)
and was definately gross at times(i did cover my eyes a few times!) but the hype was scarier than the movie!still it was very well done and the crazy surgeon was extremely creepy so I gave it 4 Jeffersons!
after the movie I left Dan and Terrance and headed over to SoHo and Chinatown in search of the best soup dumplings.I never found the place so I walked back home(which my entire walk was 131 blocks or 6.4 miles).
There are three locations for joe shanghai restaurant who is famous for their soup dumplings. They are in flushing, chinatown and near me on 56th street and 5th ave.
A soup dumpling has crabmeat, pork and soup broth inside them. So when you bite into it you get an explosion of taste! Really they are that amazing! So Joe shanghai and soup dumplings get 5 Jeffersons!
Later Keith and I went to iron man 2 (i know 2 movies in one day...i think it's a first for me!) which was also very good and fun..i give it 5 jeffersons!
My pretzel bites ,on the other hand, were there from last night or last week so they get 1 Jefferson!
Times square can't hold a candle to astoria's pretzel bites!
Finally I got home, exhausted and beat, but boy did i have a great day!!! where else can you live and get so much done in 12 hours?!
I love living in the kitchen!
Now Please feel free to follow me on my blog(i would love that!) and in the comment boxes tell me any place you want me to try,i will do my best!
oh,and don't miss next weeks blog...it's going to be all about my birthday here in the city! Remember 37 is the new 21!

Living in the kitchen (Hell's kitchen that is..I can't cook!)
Hi everyone and welcome to my very first blog! I was inspired by the movie julie and julia. I felt I too needed a place to be able to share what I loved to others. And since I don't cook, I decided to write about the foods I love! And as in life i don't have limitations, so I will be adding other areas such as shows I've seen and anything I have done that might keep you reading! So each week I will share with you a place I walked to (I love to walk)and give you an insight what it is like to live in the beautiful 9th avenue neighborhood A.K.A. Hell's Kitchen.
It has been six weeks since I moved here,so this blog might run a little long but i will try to keep it interesting i promise! :)
First things first,my favorite take-out. and the winner is...Jing (691 9th avenue)
Jing was formerly West side cottage. Then the owners renovated and changed the name and made a menu of gourmet chinese food that makes you go MMMmmm!!
Their General Tso chicken melts in your mouth and the singapore Mei fun is the best I have ever had! They have an extremely friendly staff there and It's literally right next door to me.
I give them a "5 Jefferson rating!"(the highest you can get)at the end i'll list the jefferson system :)
As far as restaurants go,I love my restaurant Rachel's (608 9th ave)
there they have great american cuisine with a little flair to make it original and delicious!
I have been with them six years and can proudly serve the food everytime!
The chicken with pecans is our house specialty.
we have a live jazz trio every friday and saturday night. And my husband, keith Berg and our friend Julie Holmes(shout out!) sing with amazing talent every thursday night..so stop on by they are really that good!!Rachel's also gets a 5 Jefferson rating!
Ok enough self promotion,my next favorite restaurant is..Room Service (690 9th ave)
It's really an amazing Thai restaurant with a little asian fusion thrown in.
Keith and I had dinner with our good friend Gail Freeman(shout out) there tonight
It's so hard to choose on the appetizers,so i chose the coconut tempura calamari, the golden triangles and the chicken satay. And for my Entree I get the chicken pad see euw with shrimp...all of it amazing!Keith got the Pad Thai(also amazing) and Gail got Room service pad thai(so unique and delicious!)
Every dish comes beautifully prepared and with a generous portion.
And let's not forget the drinks...they have a great mango mojito!
I definately give Room Service a 5 jefferson rating!(and no not everything i review will get a 5 jefferson rating) I just narrowed down my favorites from the last six weeks!
Oh here is a less than 5 jefferson rating..Cafeteria (119 seventh ave)
I was told they have the best macaroni and cheese, and they do!!! It is like heaven in your mouth! I got the mac n cheese with truffle oil..really that amazing..worth every step of my 36 block walk! I suggest you get some now(after your done reading my blog!)
What I won't do there is dine.I was getting pick up and everyone from the hostess to bartender to the idle servers were nothing but rude!I am not one to really complain but i thought they all suffered from RMS(rejected model syndrome). Very pretty people that hated the fact that instead of being on the catwalk they were serving food on the sidewalk..it was very sad to see people so miserable.so the staff that was there that night got my lowest rating ...0 jeffersons
And finally now to my final report of the week..best show!
And the ultimate winner is Everyday Rapture! Sherie Renee Scott is so talented and so inspiring!!!! I laughed so much, cried and was just completely inspired to live my life to the fullest. So for anyone who wants to be in the business or just embrace all life has to offer please go see this show!It was officially tony nominated yesterday!!
Here are a few things you will learn about me in my blogs to come ... I have an amazing husband,2 beautiful dogs,a great job and great boss Louie(shout out!)incredible family and friends...and most importantly for you..exceptional taste in food and shows!!
So please Keep reading my blogs every week, they won't always be this long!
oh and my Jefferson grading system is: 5 Jefferson's (the best) 4 Jefferson's(good) 3 Jefferson's(did i really walk here for that?) 2 jefferson's(don't think i'll be returning) 1 jefferson (wow you really don't want to be in business) and 0 jefferson's (you must work at cafeteria!)
thanks again for reading!!!
see you next week!
